Rowing Club Dinner and Dance - 3/11/11

Sponsor a Slate! - 10/6/11
Supporters are able to donate towards the project via the 'buy a slate appeal' at £5.00 per slate. Boards are displayed locally in Charlestown Pubs and restaurants or via club members. St.Austell Brewery have kindly offered a prize of a nights B&B for the winning slate draw'.
Boathouse Fundraising Begins - 10/6/11
Following planning approval the club has now officially launched its fund raising appeal for the new Boat House, aiming to start the build in September 2011. The estimated target is £65,000 of which the club has raised £32,000 to date.

Success on Scillies! - 10/5/2011
Charlestown Rowing Club had a highly successful weekend at the World Pilot Gig Championships, Our ladies A came 3rd along with great results for the Mens A & B, Ladies B & C and Vets crew.

Rashleigh to Rashleigh race -4/12/10
This year's Rashleigh to Rashleigh race will be taking place on Sunday Jan 2nd at 1130am, the cup is a social event racing from Charlestown to Polkerris to raise money for the RNLI.

Congratulations to our Ladies crews who recently took part in the Newquay championships. The results were:
A's - 2nd, B's - 30th & C's - 49th
Winning on the water.....-5/8/10
Charlestown Rowing club took home a double win in the ladies at Looe with both our Ladies A and B winning their races! These wins are very encouraging in the build up to the Newquay Championships!

Newly qualified coaches
Congratulations to Vicky, Michele and Gareth on passing their UKCC L2 coaching qualifications, this now brings the club up to 6 Level 2 accredited rowing coaches.
Boxing Day Swim - 10/2/10
A successful Boxing day swim took place this year with nearly 50 swimmers partaking and over £1500 raised. Well done to all those that took part.

Churchtown Farm - 27/11/09
Charlestown Rowing Club donates £500 to Churchtown Farm new boat appeal. money was raised from the 2008 Boxing day swim with this years swim being in aid of the same charity.
Mens A success - 10/10/09
Congratulations to Mens A who battled to 8th Place in the county championships. A great result to add to the 18th place finish for Ladies B. Well done to all Charlestown rowers who competed.
Defender Launch - 3/2/09
Our new pilot gig Defender, being built by Maurice Hunkin of Fowey will be launched on at 18:30 on April 20th from Charlestown Harbour. The event will be followed by celebrations in the Rashleigh Arms.
New gig named - 18/2/09
A new pilot gig being built for the club has been named 'Defender' in a vote by club members. Being constructed by Maurice Hunkin of Fowey, the 'Defender' is due to be completed around Easter 09.
Great turn out for Boxing Day Charity Swim - 4/1/09
Crowds lined the harbour walls on Boxing day 2008 to watch 27 swimmers brave the icy water to raise money for Churchtown Farm and club funds.
Boxing Day Charity Swim - 4/12/08
The 2008 Boxing day swim is to be held at 11.30 in Charlestown Harbour, weather permitting in aid of Churchtown Farm and club funds. Forms available from club members.
Indoor rowing club starts - 01/09/08
Funded by the Henley Stewards Trust, ARA Scholarship coach - Rhiannon Halliday will work with Penrice School and the Club, developing junior rowers. It will run on Mondays 15.15 - 17.00.
Charlestown Event 2008 - 04/04/08
The Charlestown Event will take place on Saturday 17th May with races beginning at 2:30pm. Around 16 clubs will be competing at the popular event. Come along and cheer them on!
Social Rowing Nights 2008 - 04/04/08
The first Social Rowing evening for 2008 will be held on Wednesday 14th May at 6pm from Charlestown Harbour. Why not come along and have a go, no prior knowledge necessary.
