Built by T Deakin and launched in 2009, 'Rashleigh' is a glass fibre training gig painted in club colours. It is named after Charles Rashleigh, a local mining entrepreneur. Rashleigh commissioned the building of a harbour at West Polmear. Once completed in 1799 the inhabitants renamed the harbour 'Charlestown' in his honour. Without Charles Rashleigh, the harbour and therefore the rowing club would not exist and so it was decided that 'Rashleigh' would be a fitting name for the club's new Glass Fibre training gig. The use of the Rashleigh and the Keynvor (the Club's other Glass Fibre training gig) reduces the wear and tear on the wooden boats and allows for easier year round training.
