Waterwitch

Built by John and Dave Currah of Looe, and launched in 2003, Waterwitch is named after a ship of the same name which was famous for being the last UK registered cargo carrying square rigged sailing ship. Due to connections with one of the families involved with the original Waterwitch it was possible for a piece of wood from the original boat to be incorporated into the new pilot gig. Waterwitch is the current general racing boat for Charlestown Rowing Club with the Defender being used for top events. The Waterwitch was given a full external repaint and general refresh over the winter of 2008/09.
